This site has been what seems like an eternal "work in progress". The reason I say this is because everytime I create a new revision, there is always some new technology, new layout, or new color scheme I want to implement, although typically it's a new technology (I get easily excited).

Hopefully, this is the last iteration of a haulover for a few years, that way I can focus on my other projects and on adding content. While the primary function of the site is to act as a portfolio, I intend, and have already started, to store things I find important and useful here.

Don't really intend to say much, but here goes ...

My name is John. At 24 years of age, I am currently residing in Austin, Texas. However, it has not always been so. My father was in the military so I tended to move to a new place roughly every 3 years (4 years alone in Germany). When he finally got out of the military, we happened to land in Indiana. Since I was a resident of the state, my school of choice became Purdue University.

I have since graduated from Purdue with a degree in CGT (Computer Graphics Technology). It was a long road to finally choose a degree, with Pharmacy and Engineering coming beforehand. My focus became animation. However, the CGT program itself diversifies its students by making them take general classes no matter what their focus, and it wasn't until my senior year that it hit me ...

As much as I loved the modeling and lighting courses, my favorite courses were those that involved coding. As such, I eventally want to go back to school to take some real CS courses and whet my appetite. Till then, I spend most of my time learning languages, reading about data structures, or anything pertinent to coding.
